The TempSpike does a number of things exception well. The range is extremely good, the 500ft (152 meters) is accurate. I can be anywhere in the house or backyard and still be connected. The app is intuitive and features presets and upper / lower temperature alarms. The base (booster) is well build, is rechargeable and features USB-C. The battery life on the probe is good at the advertised 12 hours. My only regret is not buying the dual probe model.
5 people found this helpful, First of all, the product quality just feels superb. There is a weight and durability feel to the probe that’s professional class. The combination charging base and monitor is compact and attaches magnetically to any nearby surface— a thoughtful design. Scanning to download the app, and pairing all devices with my iPhone was effortless. To set up the base monitor took about two hours of charging the battery. Charging the probe, took many hours, but was worth the wait. All the status light features are intuitive and very useful. When the internal temp reached 135 an alarm sounded on my iPhone and I removed the roast. It was perfectly pink in the middle.
